Golden Telecom Introduces
Enhanced Internet Services
Feb 23, 2000
Golden Telecom, Inc. (GTI) (Nasdaq: GLDN), a leading facilities-based
provider of integrated telecommunications and Internet services throughout
Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS),
today announced the introduction of new and enhanced Internet access services as
part of its Russia-On-Line brand.
The new tariff plans provide
a complete package of Internet services for the dial-up access market. Monthly
pre-paid packages, including 20 or 50 hours online, are now available from
Russia-On-Line at the equivalent of US$10 and US$20 at the Central Bank of
Russia's exchange rate plus 3 percent. In addition, an hourly package for a
charge of US$0.60 per-hour (at the same exchange rate) is available for users
not expecting to use the amount of hours offered in the other packages.
"Most importantly," said Stan Abbeloos, chief operating officer of
GTI, "We have added a full range of quality specifications to our 'on-net'
services that will allow us to provide high-quality levels of service to our
customers. This was designed into the new products as part of our commitment to
bringing the Internet to Russia."
Cliff Gauntlett, director of
Golden Telecom's Internet services division, said: "Our new tariff schemes
will make the Internet more available than ever to the Russian consumer. We are
issuing a product offering that is not only based on the high quality level of
service that Russia-On-Line has come to represent, but is also very affordable."
